As Meryl Streep says, “I’m never so sure as when I was in my mid-20’s”. Although my 20’s had its challenges, it was all worth it for the freedom I had to learn, love, fail, and grow.
At this point in my life, New York City was no longer daunting and scary to me. It now felt romantic and magical, and every night was an adventure.
I loved my job, BUT what I loved more was taking off my work shoes at 5 o’clock and putting on my favorite heels for a night out on the town! Which at that point was every day of the week...
My Classic Date Night Heels
My small NYC closet could fit next to nothing...but I made it work. I loved clothes...but shoes were my true love, and they got top shelf priority (literally).
Back then, my number one date night shoes were my Jimmy Choo patent leather Lance heels. I loved these shoes! And no matter if the date was going well or...not so well...I always felt fab. These still look absolutely amazing, don't you think?
A Much Needed Girl's Vaca
During this time, I was working incredibly hard on building my career, but... I often needed to get out of the city, clear my head and take a short topical vacation. One that I could afford (aka Turks & Caicos).
I loved frolicking on the white sand beaches and playing in the clear blue water. But what I think I always loved more was wearing my tropical Stuart Weitzman wedges that I could hardly wear in the cold NYC weather. These shoes always made me feel free-spirited and happy with out a worry in the world!
My Perfect Pump for Work & Play
I wore these Gucci Pumps all the time for work & play. These were my "good luck" shoes. At this point in my life I was now maturing into the independent and confident woman I had dreamed of being. New York was becoming my city, and as I slowly built out my closet of killer heels, I always knew I was going to put my best foot forward.
